The New York Times reports: “The unemployment rate for younger baby boomers — ages 45 to 54 — was 5.8 percent in December, the lowest since January of 2009, according to the monthly data released Friday morning by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. For older boomers, ages 55 to 64, the rate was 5.7 percent in December, down from 5.8 percent the month before.”
