Did you see the recent story about 84 year old Erma Klatt who continues to volunteer in a second grade Montana classroom? A member of the Foster Grandparent Program, Ms. Klatt shows up three days a week to give those lucky kids her time, attention, and loving care. In this time of drastic budget cuts for education – think sash and burn – classroom volunteers are incredibly valuable. Everyone benefits and that means, good news for all involved. (No, the woman in the picture is not Erma but another wonderful volunteer.)
