Sometimes, I get a little overwhelmed by all of the social media choices there are these days. It seems like a person could spend an awful lot of time tweeting, facebooking, and linking in!  There are days I absolutely enjoy connecting to the world through these avenues … and then, there are the days I step back and enjoy the solitude of my pre-social media mentality.

But I find Pinterest to be the exception to my social media overload. As described on their site, “Pinterest is a tool for collecting and organizing the things that inspire you.” What do I love about hanging out on this site? It’s all visual – nothing but photos of everything imaginable. It’s an absolutely stunning array of eye candy, which is downright intriguing for this particularly visually oriented individual. Search “beautiful places” and I am swept away to all parts of the globe. Or if I’m looking for “writing inspiration,” I may see beautifully presented quotes, writing prompts, and books displayed in every possible form. If you can think of a topic, you can find it on Pinterest!
