I recently read about an afterschool program that offered an experimental class known as “Random Acts of Kindness,” which gave kids the chance to see how generosity and creativity might inspire others to begin practicing acts of kindness. Throughout the semester, the students took part in a variety of different projects. The “Kindness Chain Project” caught my attention. Believing that “kindness is a chain reaction,” students made a paper chain with stories of kindness on each link. It was eventually displayed in the school lobby. During “Random Acts of Kindess Week,” 177 kids participated by performing their own random acts of kindness. There are lessons for all of us in this good news story!
