Here’s something to consider, courtesy of Richard Wiseman, a former magician (!) turned psychologist and one of Britain’s most respected professionals in his field of expertise. 

Wiseman believes that by forcing your face into a smile and holding it for 30 seconds you can feel happier. 

I tried it. Yep, working at my computer recently, on a very sunny day when all I wanted was to be outside, I was feeling a bit sorry for myself. So I decided to give this smiling business a go. I sat here like the village fool and smiled. It didn’t take long for me to begin laughing, probably because I felt so silly. But hey, it worked! I felt happier … and decided to turn off the computer and grab the last hour of a beautiful day! 

Then I felt reeeeeally happy!
