I read a post online the other day written by Ken Tingley, the editor of PostStar.com. He was defending his publication’s practice of reporting ‘good news’ stories in their community. Three cheers for both Ken and his staff!
Every media outlet in the 24/7 news cycle has plenty of bad news to report and report it they do. I don’t believe this practice is a healthy approach to life. It taints our world view, zaps our enthusiasm, and contributes to feelings of helplessness and hopelessness.
As evidenced here week after week, I feel we need to be equally aware of the good things happening around us and in the world so that we can maintain a more positive, proactive attitude and approach to our daily lives.
