The value of staying active

Tracey Tracey's Blog

We have some very dear friends who, in a few weeks, are embarking on yet another wonderful adventure. At 72 and 76, they will be spending eight weeks in Europe. They’ll break up the trip by staying in different places for a week or two at a time. At each location they’ll be going on day hikes, sightseeing, and enjoying wonderful food. And while in Italy, they will attend language classes! Sound like a great trip to me.

How lucky they are and yet it’s not all luck. These two manage their finances well and stay physically active. They know what brings them joy and actively pursue it. Naturally, their trips have had to take on different elements as they’ve aged. But rather than be side-lined, they have  wisely incorporate the realities of aging into their adventures and don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon.

I am inspired by these two! I think the key here is to know what thrills and delights you and to figure out how to get it. Make what adjustments you have to make but stay active however you can, for as long as you can!
